NIOS–DGT Integrated Academic Equivalency Certification

The NIOS–DGT Integrated Academic Equivalency Certification is a joint initiative of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Ministry of Education, and the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. It enables eligible ITI trainees under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) to obtain Secondary (Class 10) or Senior Secondary (Class 12) academic equivalency while pursuing their ITI training, without attending a separate school.

Key Features & Benefits

• Transfer of Credit (ToC) recognizes ITI subjects towards NIOS certification.
• 2-Year NTC trainees need only one additional language subject.
• 1-Year NTC trainees need only two additional subjects.
• Supports the objectives of NEP 2020 by integrating vocational and academic education.
• Implemented through NIOS-approved SAIASD ITIs functioning as study centres.
• Class 10/12 equivalency is recognized by universities, government departments and employers across India.
• Provides eligibility for higher education, diploma/degree programmes and government employment.
